Biography
After a rewarding 20-year career as a nurse leader, including 12 years in hospital administration, she returned to graduate school in 2019 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing with a focus on population health. Her goal was to transition her work toward community-based health promotion.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Rural Health Promotion with Washington State University Extension in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. In this role, her research program focuses on two primary areas: generating data-driven insights into how neighborhood environments influence individual stress responses through the CHORDS Lab, and strengthening rural community capacity by promoting “neighboring” as a health strategy.
